This list is a work in progress. It will get more specific and detailed as we go on researching and fleshing out the bones. Where I can, I’ll provide links to where we have gathered information and quotes on various things.
* 5 – 20 acres of land, with about 20% on the side of a hill and the rest flat
* A creek running through the property to a dam
* Whitewashed post and rail fencing around the property and also diving into paddocks
* Fence-line trees and small islands of tree in the paddocks – not too many, as we will be planting fruit trees and natives on both sides of every fence and to provide shade in paddocks
* Long driveway with maple trees on either side
* Ivy, rose and general vine covered limestone wall around the backyard and the front of the house where it’s cream render also covered in ivy and dark red climbing roses
*Small two storey studio (kit home?) for Shannon’s studio – to be converted to granny flat for Kaidin when he gets older

*Barn for livestock in bad weather with chicken roost and hay loft
*Rotating paddocks for hay and livestock, maybe a linseed crop
*Fenced orchard with wire netting above to protect chickens and ducks from prey birds while they forage – stone fruit trees, apples and citrus, lots of berries.
*Raised, huge vegetable garden, fully organic, irrigated with treated grey water
*Walled herb garden, irrigated with grey water, with flowers for added pollination and stone seats and statues, large stone circle in the centre.
*Solar cells on all structures – enough to provide all power plus power to back up batteries and feed back into the grid if possible
*House partially built into hill side to provide insulation
*Cellar underneath house for rainwater storage, rotating compost toilet, deep freezer, generator and long term goods storage, also climate controlled root cellar
*House made from recycled materials – timber, rammed earth, recycled limestone, straw bales etc.
*Large rooms and utilised all space (ie: hexagon/beehive design)
*Rainwater fed below ground pool with small beach
*Library
*Outside bath screened by willow trees – a claw foot iron tub built into decking with a coal fire underneath it

*great climate – sunny days in summer but with light rains and the occasional lightning storm, raining cool winters with never a shortage of water
*large glass teranium with chaise lounges and picnic table and lots of tropical plants
